Total Coastal Ultra

50km of Challenging Scenic Multi-Terrain route all on the South West Coast Path with 7,000 ft of ascent
This is a challeninging event on hilly coast path trails!
Starting in Kingswear in South Devon the route starts with just under a mile of flat running along a country lane, but then the challenge really begins as the route heads off-road, 9 miles of very scenic technical coast path all the way to Berry Head, before heading around Brixham Harbour and then back off-road to Goodrington Beach, from here until Torquay Harbour the route is on tarmac, just after you pass the Imperial Hotel in Torquay the route heads mainly onto the trails again as it heads up and down before reaching Babbacombe Beach, where if you are lucky Sammy the Seal maybe about, you then duck under the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway and head to Petitor Downs, from this point to the finish you are on very scenic 6 miles of hilly off-road trails. Finishing at the picturesque Ness at Shaldon, with views across the River Teign.

The route is multi-terrain with around 75% trails, but it is all on the South West Coast Path, the majority of tarmac is in the flatter middle section from Goodrington Beach to Torquay Harbour.

As the route is after the first mile, totally on the South West Coast Path navigation is as simple as keeping the sea on your right and following the Acorn signposts, however we will have marshals in any tricky locations, with extra signs where coast path signs are missing or hard to spot, however you should have the route uploaded to your phone or watch to aid navigation.

There is the option of a £8 coach transfer from Shaldon at 6.15am to Kingswear in time for the start of the Ultra the Ultra starts at 8am.
